Lets not forget the extraordinary dads who are playing both roles, in this game call parenthood. I know father’s day is meant for the men, but I don’t mind sharing mother’s day with them. Rock on!
I Totally agree. Dads deserve more kudos for the great job they do. Especially those who do it alone or are stay at home Dads. They do it in a quiet unassuming way too. I think us gals are sadly much more high maintenance than men.
Hej from Sweden,
I love to see fathers and children together. I especially love to see men of color being “mother hen” ! It’s a beautiful sight. Here in Sweden it seems that the roles have been reversed and the men are the “mother hens”. They can be seen with baby pouches and buggies and they go everywhere with their babies. Happy Mother’s Day to mothers and fathers !
Little Miss Nanna became a mother last evening. I will post today!
Amen ! I agree! My son is the better “Mom” and my daughter in law admits it. My daughter in law is terrific, yet my son home schools them and is more patient than their Mom. Mom is better in handling other things, like management , money, cleaning…….. That is what families do: Maximize their skills.

This is a lovely picture! And the feelings you expressed are very sad. You don’t really see many single dads… Usually the moms are the ones who keep the children (anyway, that’s what I’ve seen). But when father knows he can handle putting his child through college by himself and still raise that kid drug and alcohol free, than that is a hero in my book! There are a lot o messed up kids out there and getting it right seems to be harder and harder as every generation passes.
